Dr Ali is the owner and senior principle of the renowned Centre for Implant Dentistry in Glasgow. He is an eminent practitioner and recognised leader in his field. He has been providing cutting edge solutions for patients faced with edentulism, from single implants to complex full-arch treatments. Dr Ali is teacher and mentor to dentists across the country. Your diploma course is complemented by the additional specialist expertise of Dr Makdissi, Dr Hadadi, Dr Algrafee and Dr McCartan.

Founder and Clinical Lead for
The Centre for Implant Dentistry
Tariq limits his clinical practice to implant dentistry. He is the founder and clinical lead for the Centre for Implant Dentistry, a referral implant clinic in the centre of Glasgow. He has been involved in implant dentistry for nearly 20 years and has great experience in the field.
Tariq’s implant training was undertaken at the Royal College of Surgeons in London. He has a particular interest in immediate implants and especially in full arch cases. Tariq is passionate about implant education and founded the Ultimate Implant Restorative course which has trained hundreds of dentists in the restorative aspects of implant dentistry. He is involved in mentoring implant dentists and has now established the Diploma course in Implant Dentistry to allow dentists to treat their patients with this valuable treatment.

Dr Makdissi joined the Institute of Dentistry, Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry, in 2004 as a Clinical Senior Lecturer and Honorary Consultant in Dental and Maxillofacial Radiology. He directs the Dental and Maxillofacial Radiology programme of the undergraduate BDS curriculum. He completed his specialist training at Guy’s Hospital and obtained the Diploma of Dental Radiology from the Royal College of Radiologists. He has served on the Education Committee of the International Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology. He has also served as the Dental Tutor for the London Deanery at Barts Health, the Faculty Tutor at the Royal College of Surgeons and as the President of the Metropolitan Branch of the British Dental Association. In addition, he is the founder of the Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) Interpretation Masterclass providing UK-based CBCT hands-on training along with a collection of e-learning modules. Jimmy has recently completed his PhD on the use of MRI in Dentistry.

Prosthodontist
Shuaib completed his Bachelor of Dental Surgery at Peninsula Dental School in Plymouth, following a Bachelor of Science with honours. During his dental training, he was awarded the National Composite Restorative Prize for his exceptional operative skills.
He pursued further postgraduate training with roles in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Glasgow’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital and in Oral Surgery at Glasgow Dental Hospital, earning membership with the Faculty of Dental Surgery at the Royal College of Surgeons. Shuaib’s dedication to Prosthodontics led him to complete a four-year specialist training program at Guy’s Hospital in London, where he earned a Master’s in Clinical Dentistry in Prosthodontics from King’s College London.
Currently, Shuaib practices privately, focusing exclusively on complex restorative rehabilitation, with implants and conventional fixed and removable prosthodontics.

Hatem Algraffee qualified as a dentist from the Royal London Hospital in 1996. In 2004 he completed four-years of full-time specialist training at Guys Hospital/Kings College achieving two Master degrees. Since 2004 Hatem has been in private specialist practice and been involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching. Hatem works in private practice approximately four days a week with remaining time dedicated to PerioAcademy teaching and mentoring colleagues.

Dr Darina is a general dental practitioner with a keen interest in Conscious Sedation. Darina holds a Certificate in Conscious Sedation and Pain management from Eastman Dental institute, UCL. She works within the field of implant dentistry and deals with the soft tissue aspects around implants.

Advanced Aesthetic
and Restorative Dentistry
Dr Graham Lister is a dentist with a strong focus on advanced aesthetic and restorative dentistry. Having achieved a Master’s degree in Advanced Aesthetic and Restorative Dentistry, his main clinical focus is around occlusal rehabilitation and providing high quality and precise restorative treatments. In addition to this, Dr Lister has a keen interest in facially driven treatment plans when planning any aesthetic dentistry utilising cutting edge technology and 3D printing. He particularly enjoys working in a multidisciplinary team to being the highest level of care to his patients. Furthermore, Graham has a passion for dental photography, successfully running courses and providing lectures to colleagues on the subject.
